ABOUT OUR CHAKRAS
We have 7 main chakras that are seated within our etheric body. They are connected to fine energy channels running along our spine, controlling the flow of subtle energies. Without them the body would not exist, they symbolize the connection between the spiritual & the physical, & coincide with the bodies endoctrine system. Each chakra is 'linked' with a certain organ & region of the body & has an influence on its function.
When the chakras are in balance each of the 7 major chakras helps a particular part of the body to function perfectly. When unbalanced, dysfunctional or "blocked" , a whole range of mental, emotional & physiological conditions can manifest themselves. If we have a blockage in the energy flow of our chakras, this may lead to an imbalance & to a mental,spiritual or physical disorder. We must look after our Chakra system for our mental, spiritual & physical health & well-being.
Sekhem Reiki is just one method of balancing these chakras. I utilise Essential Oils specifically mixed to balance each chakra. I also use Crystal & Colour Therapy during my Chakra Balancing. These methods make for a more powerful healing & balancing.
CROWN CHAKRA
Located at the Top (crown) of the head. This Chakra is the centre of spirituality & enlightenment. It connects us to our spiritual self.The colour association is either Violet, Gold or White. Crystals associated are: Clear or Milk Quartz. Blockages to this chakra:- feeling cut off (as in severe grief), inability to face reality, being too much in your head, cut off from your intuition, serious psychotic disorders are a few.
THIRD EYE/ BROW CHAKRA
Located between the eyebrows & is denoted by the colour Indigo. This Chakra is the centre of psychic power & higher intuition. Amethyst is the crystal associated with this chakra. Blockages are: Confusion to any of the following:- purpose, self-control,ambition, rational mind, creative & artistic abilities, being irrational, loss of intuition. Some diseases are:- depression, migraines, sinusitis, eye/ear problems.
THROAT CHAKRA
Located at the throat (approx. at the 4-5th cervical vertibrae) & has the colour blue associated to it. This chakra is the centre of communication & expression. Crystals that can be used here are: Lapis Lazuli, Blue Agate & Sodalite. Some blockages are: frustrated communication, unwillingness to compromise, rigidity, diseases of the throat & lungs. Body language; coughs, clearing of the throat, heavy & lots of necklaces.
HEART CHAKRA
Located in the centre of the chest & denoted by the colour pink or green. This chakra is the centre for love. It vitalises the heart & the thymus gland. Crystals associated with this area are: rose quartz, adventurine, Rhodonite. The biggest aspect of the heart is unconditional love & trust of others. Therefore blockages come from fear caused by old emotional hurts, lack of emotional security, fear of letting others in & protection from recurrances of past hurts. Diseases: Heart attack, problems with blood pressure, immune system problems & problems with the circulatory system.
SOLAR PLEXUS
Located just below the sternum (where the ribcage meets at the base) & is owned by the colour yellow. This colour is the centre of personal power & ambition. It vitalises the stomach, liver, gallbladder, sympathetic nervous system, pancreas, spleen & adrenal glands. Crystal associated with this chakra is Citrine, Tigers Eye & Topaz. Some blockages to this chakra are: fears or anxieties about anything. Diseases: Butterfies in the stomach, constipation, diarrhoea, ulcers, repressed energy at clee level. The Solar Plexus also holds painful memories here as well.
SACRAL CHAKRA
LOCATION: The petals are approx. two fingers below the navel. The stem corresponds to the sacrum area of the spine. Its colours are: Orange, Amber & Gold. Crystals associated to the sacral chakra are: Amber, Citrine, Topaz, Adventurine, Moonstone & Jasper. Sexuality, empowerment, creativity & security are associated to the sacral. Some imbalances of the sacral are: emotional dysfunctions, physical dysfunctions such as impotence, frigidity, bladder & prostate problems & lower back pains.
ROOT CHAKRA
The root chakra is concerned with physical needs & basic human survival. It has the lowest vibrational rate of all the chakras. An active root chakra shines in fiery red. Associated parts of the body are: All solid parts like the spinal column, bones, teeth & nails. Blood & the building cells. Anus, rectum, colon & prostate gland. Adrenal glands. Emotional dysfunctions such as: mental lethargy, unfocused mind, incapable of stillness, difficulty achieving goals are associated with the root. Osteoarthritis is one physical dysfunction. Crystal associated with the root: Agate, Bloodstone, Tigers Eye, Onyx, Smokey & Rose Quartz are to name a few.
A Hand Chakra is positioned in the palm of each hand. They link directly to the Heart Chakra & are also known as the healing Chakras., because they are used by spiritualists to direct energy. Reiki healers channel healing through these chakras.
Like the Hand Chakras, the Thymus Chakra has strong ties with the Heart Chakra. Where the Heart Chakra is the centre of balance, this minor Chakra deals with the immune system. This Chakra is stimulated in healing techniques such as Reiki to encourage the bodies immune system into action.
